Marvel and DC first crossover

Marvel and DC decided to treat fans in the ‘90s with a universe vs universe, winner-take-all bout between its heroes. The stakes couldn’t be higher: the winning universe would be allowed to continue to exist while the loser would be wiped from reality forever. The series presented dream match-ups for fans in the Hulk vs Superman and Captain America vs Batman, but some seemed rather lopsided, like Spider-Man vs Superboy and Wonder Woman vs Storm.

Worse yet, the fans-decide-the-outcome nature of some battles produced some highly questionable and controversial wins, like an off-panel victory for Wolverine over Lobo. Still, the series did show all these characters in one spot which was what fans had been dreaming about for decades
